Ben Lerner

American writer, poet, and literary critic Ben Lerner was born on February 4, 1979, in Topeka, Kansas. He teaches at Brooklyn College, where he was distinguished as a professor of English in 2016.

Throughout his career, Lerner has received fellowships from the prestigious Fullbright, Guggenheim, and MacArthur foundations, and his works have earned him awards such as the Hayden Carruth, while Angle of Yaw was a National Book Award finalist.

Leaving the Atocha Station, his first novel, was enthusiastically acclaimed by American critics. Since then he has published other titles such as 10:04 and The Topeka School.
