Since 2021, we have organized six editions of our Fiesta de la poesía, a festival that brings together poetry, music, and performance from Latin America. Its goal is to uplift immigrant voices, create space for artistic expression across cultures, and support and promote poets by giving them spaces to share their work with our communities. We seek to consolidate these festivals as spaces for the Latin American community to gather and enjoy poetry.
Our festivals have featured poets and musicians from across the Americas, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the wider Latinx diaspora.
By presenting poetry as performance in nontraditional, inclusive venues where our communities already gather, we seek to challenge stereotypes about Latinx culture. We aim to offer high-quality artistic experiences that are open, accessible, and community-driven, amplifying Latinx voices, strengthening artistic networks, and expanding access to the arts for underrepresented communities in NYC.
