The workshop, led by the Colombian writer Teresita Goyeneche, proposed a critical exploration of travel as a tool for thinking about the self in relation to the world. Across two sessions — one focused on reading and discussion of the essay form and the work of emblematic women writers, and the second devoted to collective readings of participants' work and feedback — participants explored travel beyond its touristic and commercial representations, understanding movement and writing as practices that revealed social, political, and gendered positions. Through readings of writers such as Joan Didion, Alma Guillermoprieto, Sabrina Duque, and Velia Vidal, participants were invited to write from a situated perspective that recognized the tensions between observer and place.
Con este taller la escritora colombiana Teresita Goyeneche nos propuso una exploración crítica del viaje como una herramienta para pensar el yo en relación con el mundo. En dos sesiones, una de lectura y discusión sobre el ensayo y la obra de autoras emblemáticas, y otra de lecturas colectivas y retroalimentación, los participantes exploraron el viaje más allá de su representación turística y comercial, entendiendo el desplazamiento y la escritura como prácticas que revelan posiciones sociales, políticas y de género. A partir de la lectura de autoras como Joan Didion, Alma Guillermoprieto, Sabrina Duque y Velia Vidal, invitamos a los participantes a escribir desde un lugar situado que reconoce las tensiones entre observador y lugar.
